In her words, Vashishtha, now 28 was born in town called Gondal near Rajkot, India. He did his Bachelor's in Software Engineering from India. After that he moved to San Jose for Master's and has been staying in Bay Area for a while. Currently, he works as an iOS Developer at Apple, Inc. He likes to travel and loves photography of national parks. No doubt Yosemite might be our future home :) !! In his free time I often watch him playing some hard core games (sometimes I wonder WTH is he playing!?), action movies or reading blogs about I don't know what. A complete package of affectionate, soft hearted, disciplinarian and strict personality.
In his words, Falguni, now 27 was born in Surat, India. She finished her Bachelor's in Software Engineering from India after which she moved to Texas to do her Master's. She moved to Bay Area couple years back and works as a Software Engineer at Nvidia. Just like me, she likes to travel, a lot. Oh and she likes to dance to almost anything. Coachella '15 was my first time seeing this side of her. She likes to read books (many times multiple books at once), likes to play Mortal Kombat X against me (at which she cheats :|) and watch rom coms in her free time. She may not look like one but she is a tough cookie. A mix of caring, intelligent and indecisive personality.
Our story began with BharatMatrimony. I had never thought I would meet someone there. After overlooking his profile multiple times I finally decided to send him request a week before leaving for my vacation a day after Thanksgiving. After exchanging couple of emails he asked me if we could meet for coffee on Wednesday as I was leaving same week. But due to busy work schedule we finally decided to meet for first time on Thanksgiving day.
Let me reverse the story a bit. Before meeting I had a phone call with Vashishtha which went pretty well and he kept insisting if we could meet on that day. But I kept denying as my car had a flat tire (he thought I was making excuse :P) and had to prepare for visa documents. Just after ending the phone conversation my roommate Deepti and her friend insisted that I should go and meet the guy. I felt very weird to call him back again to meet as well as pick me as I constantly kept denying to meet 10 minutes back. The date went very well and decided to keep talking. THANKS to my roommate and her friend Anjana!
We continued talking for a few days and finally decided to meet each other's family. Vashishtha came to Surat with his parents. Being a Surati I love eating and adding onions & garlic in my food and V is completely opposite to me. He hates onions. I remember our date in Surat where he had to eat masala papad full of onions. I had no idea then that he didn't like onions. Poor guy :D
After we came back to Bay Area we continued dating. He was getting anxious to get an answer from me but I was taking my sweet time to decide. I used to tell him, I need more time. He decided to finally propose me. Just that day morning I was telling him that I still need more time. In evening he took me to my favorite spot in San Francisco - Battery Spencer. It was freezing cold. I was wondering why is he taking me there in this freezing wind? I kept saying, let's go back while we were walking towards Golden Gate Bridge. He kept saying, no no, just walk a little bit more. Finally he bended down on knees proposed me and I couldn't say no. It was the most beautiful moment of my life. We are tying knots on 15th December, 2015.
Looking forward to this incredible journey that lies ahead :) :)
